High-Performance Aircraft Endorsement

Ready to step up to faster, more capable aircraft? The High-Performance Endorsement is required by the FAA (per FAR 61.31(f)) for any pilot who wishes to act as Pilot in Command (PIC) of an aircraft with an engine producing more than 200 horsepower.

At Southern Flight Aviation, our High-Performance training gives you the knowledge and practical skills to confidently operate these powerful aircraft with greater performance, systems complexity, and speed.

Course Overview

• Ground Instruction:

  • High-performance engine systems and management

  • Propeller controls (constant-speed props)

  • Performance calculations

  • Aircraft limitations and emergency procedures

• Flight Training:

  • Normal and short-field takeoffs/landings

  • Power management and cruise performance

  • Emergency operations and systems handling

  • High-speed approach and landing techniques

There is no minimum flight time required by the FAA. The endorsement is issued once you demonstrate proficiency to an authorized instructor.
