Learning to fly from Hugh was a lot of fun! I have a very tight and demanding schedule, and he was very accommodating, making himself available at times that worked for me. He did a great job of being patient with my early inability to land, allowing me to make some mistakes, all while keeping us safe. In flight, he did a good job of coaching me through what was happening, as well as, what was supposed to be happening in flight. He also knew when to be quiet and let me figure it out. I always felt safe in the plane with Hugh. When he stepped out for me to solo, I surprised myself at how prepared I actually was. I feel like he prepared me to be a safe and efficient cross country pilot. While I expected him to teach me how to be a good pilot, I was pleasantly surprised to learn so much from him about plane ownership. He walked me through all aspects of plane ownership: logbooks, insurance, maintenance, etc. You can really tell that he is not in it for the hours, but actually wants his students to be great aviators. We punched my PPL ticket and are moving on to instrument training.
